KIRKUS REVIEW

In free verse, this story of three squirrels has touches of beauty and realism that bring a poignancy to it. In babyhood in the spring, Hurry, Skurry and Flurry begin to sense the world around them, to grow and play until Flurry is taken by a hawk. Through summer and into fall the rest of the forest- peaceful and dangerous- comes alive to Hurry and Skurry until Skurry goes off by himself and Hurry, whose story is taken to the end, finds himself a mate and makes his first home.
