Another author and artist couple have produced a might-be-true story of a young fox, left alone, who felt impelled towards the House of the Good Smells in the outskirts of a city- and of how he gained the friendship of two children there. But there were dangers, and a rackety dog drove him away. Then in the woods he found a mate, and eventually brought his mate- and then their cubs- back to the friendly house. The unusual thing about this story is that the fox is always a fox- true to its own nature; and the children have learned to respect the freedom of the wild.
