RABBITS' SEARCH FOR A LITTLE HOUSE

Not just a little house, as in the title, but a ""wee little, warm little, snug little"" winter home is the often-repeated goal of Rabbit and her Little Rabbit as they go knocking on variously cute little doors to inquire about lodgings. But the high-domed mushroom (""It had a fluted overhang,"" Kwitz informs her preschool audience) has already been sold to Mr. Toad; the Hotel Mole Hole is full up; and widow Shrew's tidy cottage is available to ""rodents only."" Yet once again sappy sensibility prevails over adversity, as Rabbit and Little Rabbit build their own wee little, warm little, snug little house where they entertain cozily with acorn cups of hot safflower tea--lukewarm no doubt, and chock full of sugar.
