At superficial consideration, this would seem a simple enough job, but the author goes far to show the complexities involved in studying the male and female in its various classes, orders, suborders, families, and species. A book which stimulates independent empirical research on the part of the young reader and which dramatically illustrates the complexity of living phenomena.
