THE GIRL'S BOOK OF VERSE

Revised edition of the companion volume to Helen Dean Fish's The Boy's Book of Verse reissued last year; a favorite since 1922, and now given new impetus by the addition of some of the later writers. The inclusion of what many will term ""the obvious"" is one reason for its popularity. A total of 130 poems, as against 91 in the original edition, provides for a fairly wide choice. Among the new poets are included such well known writers as Elinor Wylie, William Rose and Stephen Benet, T.S. Eliot, James Stephens, Robert Frost, Lizette Woodworth Reese, and many others almost equally acceptable. Not a collection that pretends to be definitive, but one that expresses personal enthusiasm and that has found favor over the years.
