The autobiography of a woman who had the courage of her convictions and her emotions, and who has waged a long and a good fight for the underdog. Interesting, too, as the autobiography of a successful woman of letters, in the troubled present century, mature enough to have lived through a changing viewpoint toward women, in politics, in industry, in the professions, and to reflect it all in her life. This does not pretend to be a consecutive following of her own life thread -- but rather she uses her life as a point of departure for interesting analysis of certain facets of the labor movement, suffrage, war work, peace work, etc.
