THE TWENTY-FIFTH HOUR

Leonie, a youthfully middle-aged woman, travels through provincial France in search of her missing niece accompanied by a young man who also seems to be involved in something both undetermined and unexpected. Leonie does find young Jane, activating in a small groupuscule of revolutionaries and then there's whatever is going on in the guarded home of a fascist-rightist family. Mary Kelly is as always a very literate writer in a genre you might define as suspense by implication -- the general effect is pleasant but tentative.
