A POCKETFUL OF POEMS

A hybrid, this, of new poems and old, some taken from A Pocketful of Rhymes, 1939, and now out of print. These are poems for beginners, for the small listener, the nursery school, the play school. A few of the verses are memorable, but on the whole they seem monotonous, and lack that swing and verve and humor that demand repetition.
