MOUNT VENUS by Mary Manning

An Irish story, with a certain charm in the telling that should make it fun to sell -- to those who will appreciate it. The characters never quite escape the stock Irish mold into reality, but the book on the whole is delightful reading. Mount Venus is the home of the McConnells, on the outskirts of Dublin, and there a mad household provides haphazard episodes in which one sees the romantic revolutionist being shouldered out by the colder, machine-like patriot of today. A book for the Kate O'Brien market.
