I loved this. It has many of the qualities that made A Country Kitchen, so heart-warming, -- in its humor and its sympathetic touch with human emotions. It is a homespun picture of Missouri farm and village life a generation ago, not a routine autobiography. Mary Margaret McBride is better known to her radio audience as Martha Dean. The text of her book has the same endearing friendliness, keen observation, and nostalgic touches that give her program such universal appeal. Occasionally sentimental, the book is still good Americana, and very good reading. I think it will find a warm reception in a wide market, women primarily.
