JOURNEY TO A WAR

Travel diary kept alternately by the two authors, broken by fragmentary layers of obscure poetry and illustrated by photographs. There are enough choice bits in Auden's verse to pique the curiosity, a beauty half glimpsed. Isherwood, in transcribing the jointly written diary has done a somewhat matter-of-fact account of the elusive eastern front, with glimpses of the principles. Appeal to special audience.
