Sound common sense and not too psychiatric -- for a casework consideration of the problem of the returning veteran, which provides general counsel in human terms. It is not as extensive as the Waller; or as specifically angled as the Pratt; it adds nothing new to an already overwritten problem, but much of the material contained in it should be helpful if place can be made for an additional book along these lines... The veteran may be restless, resentful of civilians, requiring adjustment on both sides; he may have to adapt to a war bride or war children; he may be physically disabled, mentally unstable. Here is advice on proper approach and proper therapy -- on the importance of working and the right job. Here is a listing of veteran agencies and services. Dr. Dumas speaks authoritatively as psychiatrist for the Veterans Administration.
