If, as it seems, one must contend with the present trend of stressing ""charm"" courses as a part of the adolescent's academic training, then an auxiliary text such as this one by a former director of the John Powers School and the author of a syndicated column, should find its place. Diet, exercise, and wardrobe hints, a regime of manners, and a bonus of miscellaneous suggestions are provided for the teen ager who seeks greater poise and physical attractiveness. Except for such things as the endorsement of depilatories on the face--a practice that would send medical authorities into a spasm of disapproval--most of this is sound, commonsensical, and helpful. Perky line drawings by Lali decorate this text which appeals strongly to the positive self-interest of young feminine readers.
