This is rather fun reading and a refreshing story of a girl who finds a way to earn a livelihood by capitalizing the home she is trying to save. She starts a roadside stand -- and makes it pay -- and she grows up in the process, from a rather heedless young girl to a responsible young woman, who can still get fun out of little things and find adventure in solving a bit of mystery and romance in her growing romance with the boy who, for a moment, threatened her sense of security. A good book for the border line, when girls are beginning to reach out for grown up books.
