With a series of peculiar, undocumented, and para-literate pronouncements (""Experts believe lightwaves, penetrating the body through the optic nerve and striking the Pineal and Pituitary glands, set off much of our endocrinal activities""), McKenna succeeds in abnegating not only the entire body of medical science, but also the stamina of the unpenetrated reader as she states her thesis that proper attention to ""Biorhythms"" will help remove wrinkles, improve your sex life, and increase your vitamin absorption. She has ""solutions"" for everything from menstrual cramp to dieting--she calls them ""Bodypower Techniques""--one of the more intelligent of which is that chewing gum will help ease fatigue. Spliced with such gems are even more meaningless homilies: ""If you make your body your best friend, you can learn to recognize the early signs of a headache."" Most of this amounts to nothing more than psychobabble.
