THE TEAM THAT STOPPED MOVING

It looks as though Dick's Little League team is heading for its third disastrous loss when zingo--the ball stops in mid-flight, the players freeze in action and someone named Jack Wanda appears to Dick, explaining casually that he has stopped time in order to give the boy a tip. The same thing happens to little Eddie the catcher in another game the Tigers end up winning 12-11, and again to Dick, helping put them up there with the league leaders at mid-season. But it's not until Dick and bigmouth Start, a good but temperamental and egotistical player, are treated to a joint visitation where Wanda urges ""sportsmanship and teammanship"" that they really get it together, turning a 10-0 trail into an 11-10 victory and, more important (we're supposed to believe), converting Stan to Dick and Eddie's conviction that it's not winning but having fun that counts.
