MIRACLE AT THE PLATE

When Skeeter Miracle is at the plate, he lives up to his name, but in the outfield he consistently fumbles those high fly balls. Roger Hyde taunts Skeeter for each error, and wants his best friend Tommy Scott to replace Skeeter in the starting lineup. Bicycling home one night, Skeeter accidentally runs over Tommy's Mexican Chihuahua and secretly smuggles it to the vet's. Then Tommy discovers Skeeter' s subterfuge, and the antagonism among the boys increases. As the Milky Ways battle the Dragonflies, Dinosaurs, Barracudas, and Jets, the players work out their problems on and off the diamond. It's a base on balls for a veteran batter.
