Superman! Batman! Wonder Woman! Green Lantern (all of them)! Super-villains! The Justice League of America! Awesomeness! Spread by spread, the Greatest Heroes of the Known Universe leap forth dramatically, accompanied by their origin stories, related characters and other ancillary information. As is now customary, side folios yield further, smaller pop-ups. The Batmobile, Wonder Woman’s invisible plane, Gorilla Grodd, Brainiac, the Teen Titans, even the Justice Society of America—they’re all here. Wisely, Reinhart doesn’t attempt a story, concentrating on cramming as much comics trivia (with an admirable adherence to the canon) and wow factor into the pages as possible. The JLA tableau packs 45 clearly labeled characters into an awesome melee. A (grown-up) comic-book geek’s delight, this should also find an enthusiastic audience among little boys everywhere. And the Bat-Signal lights up! (Pop-up. 5 & up)
