In a set formula, Burton briefly describes the habits of selected birds from all the continents of the world. The factual information appears to be sound, but unfortunately it is not presented in an appealing or lively manner. The illustrations by K. Nixon, some in full color, are stereotyped, resembling those found in an old encyclopedia, and do not add any vitality to the book.
