SUMMER TODAY

By

Publisher: Yale

An unusual way to handle a memorial edition of selected essays, which takes it out of the also-rans. Wm. Graham Sumner, known as the ""Darwin of the Social Sciences"" -- shows a forward looking viewpoint, a liberalism unique in his day, a grasp of basic principles. The subjects covered might read like today's topics, -- The Forgotten Nan, What Makes the Rich Richer and the Poor Poorer?. Strikes and Industrial Organizations, etc. The assumptions he makes that the world has reached a static point where certain theories have been proved are discussed by current leaders of American thought.
