THE GREAT HATRED by Maurice Samuel

THE GREAT HATRED

By

Publisher: Knopf

A speculative inquiry into anti-Semitism, which the author makes a point of differentiating from anti-Jewish sentiment, in a series of essays. This is no brief for the Jews. It is not an answer to the Jewish problem. It is an analysis of anti-Semitism in relation to various religious and political movements. His main argument is predicated on the fact that anti-Semitism is a continuation of the revolt against Christ. The Jew is hated because he is the ""Christ-giver"". He considers that only by this argument can anti-Semitism be logically explained. He takes up Jewry in relation to aspects of Fascism, force, military equipment, etc. Difficult reading.
