The case of Peter Falkner, jailed, three times tried, and finally released in the murder of his uncle as it is investigated by the private detectives Glover and Madden. Madden, with Hibernian flair, disregards none of the nine suspects, including Falkner, is unable to prevent a second killing, and with Glover hunts out the killer with a certain blindness for English Law. A bit flamboyant.
