KIRKUS REVIEW

This is probably the vanguard of books preparing the public for the momentous decision of election year, but it strikes a high mark for books of that type. For the most part a fair and thoughtful appraisal of Franklin D. Roosevelt, his education and background and training for politics, his career as governor, the contradictions of his presidential career. In so doing, he provides a challenging picture of our present situation. The section on the possibilities of war seems the one note off key in the whole.
