For the most part a fair and thoughtful appraisal of Franklin D. Roosevelt, his education and background and training for politics, his career as governor, the contradictions of his presidential career. In so doing, he provides a challenging picture of our present situation. The section on the possibilities of war seems the one note off key in the whole.
