A reverent retelling of the story of Joseph (Gen. 37, 39-46), accompanied by spare, suggestive pen and ink drawings. Joseph is introduced as a misunderstood dreamer (?) sold into slavery by brothers jealous of his priority in Jacob's heart; the subsequent amplifications are attuned to the sense of the original and convey his changes of fortune with few awkward alterations. Miss Schindler's delicately coarse-textured drawings on almost every page (but not at all babyish) should attract browsers.
