STALIN'S RUSSIA And the Crisis in Socialism

By

Publisher: Norton

This should disprove the idea that Eastman is purely and simply a ""Trotskyite"". He is primarily anti-Stalin; but he is not pro-Trotsky. He shows how Stalin out-Hitler's Hitler, he outlines the similarity of the two. He analyzes the puzzle of the confessions, of Trotsky. Then he reconsiders socialism, and lays out a new program of democratic collectivism with private property and industrial initiative within the framework of planning boards, and guarantees against totalitarianism. Plenty to challenge the liberal today, to give the communist and socialist new avenues of thought.
