HELL STREET

Another grim faced panel of civic corruption (Justice has No Sword, 1953) exhibits Hell Street where gambling, prostitution, dope drops and bookies are protected by a combine made up of city officials and the unknown Mr. White. Sgt. Johnny Blake is framed in mud, resigns from the police, and, hired by Hell Street's straw boss, strong arms his way into acceptance only to turn the tables explosively when he wipes out the combine -- and Mr. White. No mincing of the manhandling here.
