THE MAN ON THE BARGE by Max Miller

THE MAN ON THE BARGE

By

Pub Date: Feb. 11th, 1935
Publisher: Dutton

The author of I Cover the Waterfront gives us here, in a collection of episodes, sketches, bits of philosophy, a composite picture of a man withdrawn from life, but finding that life still comes to him. As captain of a fishing barge, off the coast line of Southern California, he sees all types of men and women, glimpses sides of their lives that -- in his rightful position as a college graduate and man of breeding -- he would never see. Leisurely, pleasant, fragmentary -- the Max Miller market is a more or less established one, though this is not Miller at his best.
