Mr. Voegell's nicely retold version of the adventures of Ali the thief of Baghdad and how he found Aladdin's lamp, was first published in Germany in 1952. This is a tramslation by E. M. Prince from his original. The familiar tale needs no repeating-by this reviewer. It suffices that it remains colorful enough in Mr. Voegeli's book. Felix Hoffman captures motion and an Eastern mood in his drawings.
