EVERY WOMAN'S BOOK OF HEALTH

Sensibly handled, this gives a general coverage of situations that, in the course of her life, any woman might encounter and, although there is specific information, the necessity for doctor's care is always underlined. From a briefing on anatomy and the endocrine system, this starts its program with menstruation, its cycles and its disorders, then goes through all the aspects of childbearing, and continues on to the problems -- and comforts -- of the menopause. The questions of fertility and contraceptives have their place, as do the common and special discuses (venereal and cancer). There is no view-with-alarm tone here, and, since the material has had its own medical checkup by specialists in all fields, the book offers information, for some perhaps education, in an easily understandable manner, and makes use of current scientific developments. Good in its field.
