THAT GIRL PAT

The reader knows immediately that the triangle will not last through the summer,-- that the serious, straight-and-narrow chap will beat out the rich, thrill happy dude in winning ""that girl's"" affection. Pat sees herself as a failure when she returns home after flunking out of college. But she enters with enthusiasm into the preparations for the arrival of summer dudes to her parents' Colorado ranch. She knows that Russ, the promising lad, is justified in thinking that she attempts to do too many things, and, in the end, gives up some activity. Pat situations and pat solutions for predictable Pat, but not much for the young reader-- a run-of-the-mill heart flutter.
