KIRKUS REVIEW

Very involved situations resulting from pathologically sadistic adventurer, Mark Exeter, insisting on everyone playing his way, with resultant unhappiness for all. Pretty far-fetched story of blackmail and the skeleton in the family cupboard. But a family friend comes to the rescue, and plays providence and brings about a happy ending. An English story, incredible as to plot and characters. May Edginton is usually a bit more adroit in handling her story than this one indicates.
