KIRKUS REVIEW

Another Kettle Creek story, this time about Jerry Jake who wanted to be a peddler, and who helped Stepalong (the peddler of the other stories) when Stepalong twisted his ankle. Nothing particularly new, though as always May Justus gives an authentic feel to her picture of the people and their lives in this remote mountain (Kentucky) settlement.
