KIRKUS REVIEW

A rollicking, affectionate story tells of a small boy's life in the mountains of Tennessee. Peter, who lives high up in a cabin with his Granny Messer, is always collecting the most interesting things to put in his pockets. But he collects friends and adventures too, and by the end of the year he and his granny, poor as they are, have had a wonderful Thanksgiving, a gay Christmas, happy birthdays, good fortune when their house needed repairs, and warm times with their neighbors.
