KIRKUS REVIEW

A regional story with familiar setting (to those who know May Justus) and the popular, peddler, Step-Along, who relieves Susie and the rest of the family, of mammy's bitter Spring Tea, by coming down with a cold when he stops there for over night. The children entertain him- and in return have a real look at his fascinating peddler's pack. Full color and black and white pictures, songs, and the various things that make May Justus' regional stories unexcelled in their field- the mountain country of eastern Tennessee. Excellent supplementary reading as well as entertainment.
