BALLOON GIRL

Another site like Andorra or Andalusia suffused with color and rococo decals--namely Italy where art restorer Kati goes to stay with a Signor Turo. Back in England she had spotted the Balloon Girl (a famous Doulton figure) as a likely forgery coinciding with the theft of a Van Gogh. And what of her roommate Ann who turns up in Italy as the niece of a Count Pietro di Tiepolo descended from a famous family to deal in stolen and reconstituted art works. Much more ornamentation than story, but there are those who like pretty reflections in a gilt cheval mirror.
