PETER, THE SEA TROUT

Pigeonhole this for nature lovers who like their animals and plenty of salty humor and homegrown wisdom. From egg-hood on, here are the adventures of Peter, a Cape Breton trout when he swims the land streams as a small fish, ventures out to live in the Atlantic and, full grown, returns to the scenes of his childhood. His friends and enemies are big and small-Fi the minnow, Dan the cuttlefish, a whale, to mention a few- but as Peter goes on his lengthy and rather talkative journeys, his tale has the saga-like quality of an old yarn spinner's most relished stories. A different kind of animal story with its own romantic realism- this may nevertheless tax where the interest is not in trout.
