THE MANDRAKE SCREAM

An ""Evil. Devilish. Hellish. . ."" or just plain dreadful novel by a television script writer who has not so much bad-dreamed this up as borrowed from everything in the public domain--J. B. Rhine, Manson and Sharon Tare, Rosemary's Baby, ""philosopher's stones versus stoned philosophers,"" Heisenberg yet, while throwing the candle, bell and book at you. The personnel includes two women who meet their sudden and unregretted deaths, but most of it's about another young woman with a black shepherd named Boulder who has yellow eyes and switches from raw meat to only well-cooked hamburger, along with a marked preference for her personal parts. A bogus, repellent story (look out for those mincemeat turnovers--everyone avoids them) with occasional mention of the schizophrenia of our time which only leaves you questioning whether it's been spelled correctly.
