CHRISTIANITY AND SOCIETY

This is the third volume of a series of books dealing with ""Reason and the Christian Faith"". The author, professor of Philosophical Theology at Vanderbilt University, is being recognized as one of the leading Protestant theologians of America. In this book he is concerned to give the philosophical and theological basis for social action on the part of the individual Christian and the church. Familiar with all the recent trends in theological thinking. Professor Ferre is at pains to point out why such thinking should issue into action and how and why the Christian and the church should deal with such problems as war, property and education. Anyone who wishes to keep of current theological developments should be familiar with Professor Ferre's books. This is solid reading but it will repay those who appreciate genuine scholarship and deep religious insight.
