IRONWOOD

Jennie Melville who did a very intelligent detective story last year returns to an earlier form where reason cannot hope to prevail but still it's a nice story of pretty poison such as arsenic and arson and a tragedy in the past leading to still more fatalities in the present while Anna, suspect-victim, keeps turning the other cheek -- the one with the scar on it. A handkerchief hour or two of attractively unsettling entertainment.
