Censorship- and other causes- kept these stories out of the press, and a number of outstandi correspondents have chosen the pieces they feel deserve to be published today. Among the contributors are Richard Tregaskis, W.W. Chaplin, Greta Palmer, Edgar Snow and Bob Considino. Certain of the articles expose political and military errors (The Brief and Happy Life of the Atlantic Charter, Someone Had Blundered etc.); others give us specific facts about post-war Europe. At times it is disillusioning reading, but often entertaining, and despite the title, there is much of lively interest today. Valuable source material for history -- and extremely readable. Untold tales such as these may bridge the gap of public concern in war records.
