THE LITTLE BRASS BAND

First published by Young People's Records in 1948 as a text to music, Margaret Wise Brown's simple sketch of a band of medieval musicians has now been set to pictures by Clement Hurd The illustrations- bright, brass yellow, green and orange capture the sounds the musicians make as they come together, sounding horn and trumpet one by one from their hill homes to the village, where they play for the people. A single theme, gaily performed and with a satisfying unity.
