NO HOLIDAYS FOR HONEYBEES

For young readers, this is a survey of the life of the bees discussed in terms of their relationship to the hive. The different kinds of bees, their special contributions to the group, the ways they communicate and divide the labor of building the honeycombs, of gathering the honey, and of reproduction are all discussed in concise language. The black and white drawings are attractive and neatly executed, but with a single exception are completely unlabelled and frequently underdetailed. It's an adequate introduction, although not as stimulating as some available recent books about ants.
