KIRKUS REVIEW

Heriel, ""Ice maiden"", thaws at last when she meets Kerry while she is traveling in Germany, and -- loving for the first time, marries him as an expedient to get out of the country when war breaks. Kerry stays behind -- and on her return to England she learns to her horror that he is the New Lord Haw Haw. Work as a war nurse, loss of both parents, a continued single on the part of Kerry, all help mature her, as she vainly fights her still persistent attraction. Finally, Kerry wins -- she takes him on faith -- and only then does she learn that he is part of England's Intelligence Service. Very lush slush for rentals chiefly.
