An apocalyptic recreation of the last days of Hitler and the last days of Berlin when Berlin ""became a masterpiece of madness, its artist painting with running blood, broken bone and fusing flame"" as the Russians (the ""women-hungry sons of the steppes"") came down on the city in a ""tide of desire"". Abandoned as anything to the hysteria of its subject, Musmanno- who attended the Nuremberg trials, later interviewed many people- projects what took place in Hitler's underground catacomb; his entourage; his hypochondria, oratory, magnetism; the ""death wedding"" ceremony in the bunker with Eva Braun and the double suicide which followed; Goebbel's plan with his wife to poison their children and themselves; etc., etc. Although there may be some basis in fact, the values here are still sensational rather than historical.
