The story features one of the most inept agents to be assigned on a mission by British Intelligence. The job is to prevent the Russians from retrieving a U. S. spacecraft containing a British-developed secret weapon, which they had caused to crash in the Antarctic. This includes sorting out the spy from the carefully picked, small group maintaining the American base in the Antarctic. The story is awkwardly put together and depends too much on old-fashioned cliches of espionage, and an unimaginative use of fisticuffs and gunplay for its solution.
