The Mittyish Sopwith is flown in fantasy by a timid bank clerk Ernest Kitteridge and it hovers above his ups and downs after he helps an aging whore, Gladys, to dispose of the remains of his superior, Braithwaite, who expired in mid-hump. Kitteridge (with Gladys out for her cut) impersonates Braithwaite, makes off with considerable lolly, and after hairbreadth hazards, rubs out Gladys -- then back to dreamland. A zigzag caper and amusing enough.
