From A to C, really, since this informal dictionary encourages and guides the novice with all kinds of incidental information, a few marks and signatures, some restoratives (Ajax for brass, but denture cleaner is not a sure cure for sick glass), a few names (be it Louis Vuitton of the luggage--why? or Barbra Streisand who likes antiques) and more thorough sections on buying at auctions, flea markets, private houses, or on selling. Since furniture is priced almost out of existence, De Forrest concentrates on different kinds of glass, china, porcelain. Curiously, he finds the word collectible a pointless term although he uses it here and there as well as in the subtitle. But essentially this is for the collector still in the collectible class.
