KIRKUS REVIEW

Soothed, rather, in this fourth appearance of Dave Cannon, antique dealer, and his wife, who are in a little village on the banks of the Severn when Dave is offered a rare 13th century box, apparently stolen many years ago. Its present owner is drowned; so is another man, cum casket. but they don't leave much of a puddle on the floor for Dave to clean up once he distinguishes between natives and outsiders in this insular part of the world. A complaisant quiet hour.
