For people who need people, Miss Drury's ""Woman's Guide to the World Around Her"" is a reworking of the old ground of relatedness. She does not penetrate very deeply, but concentrates on everyday insights as she looks to the relationships between men and women and friends, between those in the middle With those at the start and close of life, between the individual and other groups where race, politics, money are in play, between employers and employees and co-workers. The advice here is based on the Socratic know yourself, like yourself, work outward from there and ""Work loose."" Midway between panacea and perspective, no more differentiated than most books of this kind.
